First season was rough with 3D CGI I think probably turned a lot of people off.
Great series though and I honestly think looking at it now it really paved the way for 3D stuff.

Well, yea Xin more or less got privilege from Zheng. Like, he's a 5000 men commanders but Qiang Lei who lead 3000 men is also incorporated under his army. He lead more troops than what he's authorized to do and people more or less turn a blind eye.

Its to avoid repeat of Wang Yi and Liao tragedy. Zeng, Changpin and others knows about their tragedy and doesn't want Xin and Qiang Lei to suffer the same fate in battlefield.
So under backing of Zeng and high military commader who knows Xin and Lei very well and acknowledges their ability in battle, they're not seperated.
